KIE TOP MANAGEMENT LEADS TREE-PLANTING EXERCISE TO MARK MAZINGIRA DAY.

Kenya Industrial Estates (KIE) Managing Director Mr. Nelson M. Kwamini has the institution’s top management in a tree planting exercise at the KIE headquarters to mark Mazingira Day reaffirming the institution’s commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable development.

The exercise has brought together members of the top management team and staff from the Office of the Managing Director.

The KIE Board was represented by Hon. Albert Memusi who joined the team in planting trees within the KIE compound.

Mazingira Day is observed annually in Kenya on October 10th to promote environmental awareness and encourage collective action towards protecting the environment. The day was established in 2023 following the renaming of Utamaduni Day placing environmental conservation at the centre of the national public holiday.

The tree-planting exercise has highlighted the importance of institutional participation in environmental conservation. Tree growing contributes to restoring tree cover, improving air quality, conserving biodiversity and mitigating the effects of climate change.

KIE’s participation reflects the role of public institutions in supporting national environmental conservation efforts through practical initiatives that promote sustainability.

As an institution mandated to support the growth of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), KIE recognises that sustainable economic development must go hand in hand with environmental stewardship.

KIE wishes all its customers and Kenyans a happy Mazingira Day as we collectively champion environmental conservation for a greener and more sustainable future.
