Kenya Industrial Estates (KIE) continues to strengthen its role in supporting Kenyan enterprises with two more businesses outside Nairobi highlighting the institution’s contribution to their growth through affordable financing, product promotion and market access.
During ongoing customer engagements, KIE Managing Director Mr. Nelson M. Kwamini visited SuperGibs Ltd popularly associated with Gibson’s Coffee in Kamakis, Kiambu County and BeeCare Apiaries International Ltd in Thika where he interacted with the companies’ leadership and learned about their business journeys.
At SuperGibs Ltd, Director Mr. Matthew Mugo commended KIE for going beyond financing to become a brand ambassador for the company, creating opportunities for its products to gain visibility and reach wider markets.
The company produces Gibson’s Coffee, a Kenyan coffee brand whose market presence has benefited from KIE’s promotional support and opportunities to showcase its products.
In a personal endorsement of the brand, Mr. Kwamini disclosed that Gibson’s Coffee is the coffee he uses in his office and at home demonstrating the value of partnerships that connect enterprise support with product visibility.
At BeeCare Apiaries International Ltd, Director Mr. Jackson Masese highlighted the company’s honey and nut products, including BeeCare Honey, BeeCare Peanuts and BeeCare Cashew Nuts.
The company represents the potential of value addition in the agricultural sector transforming products into consumer goods while creating opportunities for enterprise growth.
Both businesses acknowledged KIE’s affordable loans as an important source of support in a challenging economic environment.
They contrasted KIE’s interest rate of 10% with commercial bank lending rates of 17% describing the difference as significant in managing borrowing costs and sustaining business operations.
Their experiences illustrate how access to affordable credit can ease the financial burden on enterprises, while marketing opportunities and product visibility help businesses connect with potential customers and expand their reach.
For KIE, these engagements provide an opportunity to assess the progress of its customers, appreciate their achievements and understand the support they need to grow further.
Mr. Kwamini reaffirmed KIE’s commitment to partnering with enterprises through affordable financing and business development support, helping them strengthen their operations, expand markets and contribute to Kenya’s industrialization and economic growth.
From coffee processing to honey and nut products, the visits demonstrate the diversity of Kenyan enterprises that KIE supports and the importance of building partnerships that deliver value to both businesses and the wider economy.
