KNCCI PRESIDENT HAILS KIE’S CULTURE OF EXCELLENCE AND EARLY-MORNING WORK ETHIC.

Kenya Industrial Estates (KIE) has been commended for its culture of punctuality and preparedness with Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) President Dr. Erick Rutto praising the institution’s commitment to service delivery.

Speaking during the signing of a memorandum of understanding between KIE and KNCCI, Dr. Rutto said he arrived at KIE at 7 a.m and found staff already at work with the boardroom prepared for the MoU signing.

“You are an early-rising government agency that gets to work before the normal government working hours of 8 a.m. I arrived here at around 7 a.m and found people already at work with the boardroom prepared for our meeting. This is a rare phenomenon in government entities and I appreciate you,” Dr. Rutto said.

His remarks highlighted the role of punctuality and preparedness in strengthening stakeholder confidence and supporting effective partnerships.

NATIONAL RECOGNITION FOR PERFORMANCE

The commendation comes as KIE builds on its recognition at the 2026 National Productivity and Performance Conference where it was named Best-Performing State Corporation for the 2024/2025 Financial Year.

KIE received an “Excellent” performance rating and a composite score of 1.7999, placing it among the top 10 performers nationally.

The recognition reflects KIE’s work in supporting micro, small and medium enterprises through development finance, industrial infrastructure and business advisory services.

FOUR AWARDS AT THE NAIROBI INTERNATIONAL TRADE FAIR

KIE also received four awards at the 2026 Nairobi International Trade Fair.

The institution emerged first in Best Financial Institution Stand Other Than a Bank (Non Agricultural), second in Stand That Best Interprets the Current Show Theme (Non-Agro-Based) and third in both Best Small Trade Stand (Commercial and Industrial) and Best Micro-Financial Institution Stand.

The awards recognized KIE’s exhibition presentation and its role in promoting enterprise development and providing financial support to businesses.

PARTNERSHIP TO SUPPORT MSMEs

The MoU between KIE and KNCCI is intended to strengthen collaboration in enterprise development, market access and business competitiveness.

KIE’s expertise in development finance and industrial infrastructure, combined with KNCCI’s business membership network will support efforts to reach more enterprises and respond to the needs of businesses across different sectors.

The partnership will focus on complementary support for MSMEs, including access to finance, production facilities, business advisory services and market linkages.

Dr. Rutto’s remarks, together with KIE’s recent performance recognitions, underscore the importance of institutional discipline and strategic partnerships in advancing enterprise development and improving service delivery.
